LMS 10000 goes to Tyseley

At the last minute, IDRS was able to arrange to attend the Open Day this last weekend at Tyseley Works.

The large scale model of LMS 10000 was displayed together with promotional literature and the latest edition of Traction magazine was offered for sale.

There were many visitors to the stand, particularly those involved in preservation groups, and also dads coerced by their offspring to talk about the model 10000 which attracts the attention of children and 'big boys' in equal measure.

Many of the preservation and new build groups discussed the IDRS strategy of using major components from the EM2 electric, and Class 58 diesel locomotives, and most agreed that it was a sound and practical approach compared to a replica new build.

We informed interested parties that we are about to open discussion on acquiring two bogies - meeting scheduled for early July.

Three members of the IDRS stopped by and were pleased to see that we were there and still endeavouring to present the IDRS in public.
