LMS10000 goes to church

posted 28 Oct 2014, 13:20 by Ivatt Diesel

On Saturday at a service in Derby Cathedral to celebrate the role of the railways over 175 years in Derby, the model of LMS 10000 which you may have seen on our stand at Derby Etches Park Depot in September was seen running along the central aisle of the Cathedral.

At the start of the service LMS 10000 conveyed the visiting dignitaries: the Chairman of Derby and Derbyshire Rail Forum; the Mayor of Derby; HM Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire; and the Secretary of State for Transport.

After the service, the sound system was turned on and rides were given to many of the congregation and also the Dean of the Cathedral! An hour of indoor running in total. Where to next? - York Minster with a Deltic perhaps?

Has LMS 10000 ever been to church before? There’s a first time for everything!
